13U Provincial Team Open Tryouts and Program Information

Baseball Manitoba is putting a provincial team together of players aged 13 and under to attend the Baseball Canada National 13U Championships in Repentigny, Quebec, August 22-29. The coaching staff has been assembled by a sub-committee of the High Performance Advisory Committee. The Coaching staff will be responsible for hosting open camps and selecting the team. 

Coaching Staff

Head Coach: Jason Mateychuk - Dominion City

Assistant Coach: Curt Brandt - Blumenort

Assistant Coach: Tyler Wiwchar - Winnipeg


Winnipeg ID camp - Saturday, May 27 from 10am - 4pm at Optimist Park

Portage ID camp - Saturday, June 3 from 10am - 4pm at Republic Park

*Note that only players born in 2004 and 2005 will be allowed to tryout. 

*Players are asked to attend only 1 camp, preferrably the one closest to where they reside.

*Note: If you are unable to attend either open camp and still want to be considered for the team, please submit the form and indicate your lack of attendance. The coaching staff will be scouting  the St. James Tournament, AAA Qualifiers and AAA Provincials as a part of the scouting process.

Cost: To attend an Open Player Identification Camp - $30

To play on the 13U Provincial Team if selected- $1,000 (this covers all air fare, accommodation and provincial team apparel)

National 13U Championships - August 22-29 (includes travel days) Repentigny, Quebec, August 22-29.
