My First Pitch is a program developed by Baseball Canada and aimed at 10 year old players and their coaches. This introduction to pitching program gives young coaches and players the confidence they need to succeed in the first year of player pitch baseball. Baseball Manitoba has trained numerous Learning Facilitators throughout the Province and will supply them with booklets to give to coaches when they attend a My First Pitch Clinic. Leagues and/or Facilitators should arrange for sessions with their 11U/13U players and their coaches. The coaches are taught pitching mechanics and shown how to properly teach them to the players. Baseball Manitoba suggests that this is done with coaches and players 2-3 times during the season to obtain optimal results.
