My First Pitch

My First Pitch is a program developed by Baseball Canada and aimed at 10 year old players and their coaches. This introduction to pitching program gives young coaches and players the confidence they need to succeed in the first year of player pitch baseball. Baseball Manitoba has trained numerous Learning Facilitators throughout the Province and will supply them with booklets to give to coaches when they attend a My First Pitch Clinic. Leagues and/or Facilitators should arrange for sessions with their 11U players and their coaches. The coaches are taught pitching mechanics and shown how to properly teach them to the players. Baseball Manitoba suggests that this is done with coaches and players 2-3 times during the season to obtain optimal results. Coaches should be prepared to pay a nominal fee to attend the clinic.

If you would like to host a My First Pitch Clinic in your area, contact James Zamko ( and include: League, facilitator, location, time and the number of expected coaches. Hosts must submit a My First Pitch Clinic Report to Jason Miller upon completion of the clinic.
